Job summary
The University of Iowa Health Care is seeking a Nurse Manager to lead the Nursing team in the Main University Hospital, Iowa City. You will ensure safe, quality, family-centered patient care in collaboration with interdisciplinary teams and manage the Perioperative General Surgery, Plastics, Burn unit.
Responsibilities include staff hiring and development, budget management, QA planning, and clinical education.
Qualifications
- Master’s Degree in Nursing required; if not, an advanced degree in nursing/health care administration or business within five years.
- Three years leadership/management experience with two years in perioperative settings.
- Strong budget, QA, and patient satisfaction oversight experience.
Responsibilities
- Hire, develop and manage staff performance within the unit.
- Prepare and monitor budgets; manage financial data and resolve discrepancies.
- Identify QA priorities; allocate resources and improve patient satisfaction.
- Provide clinical education and staff competency development.
- Collaborate with leadership on program development and equipment budgets.
