Job summary

Duke University Health System in Durham, NC, is seeking a Nursing Administrator to lead a unit with strong clinical and administrative responsibilities. You will oversee budgeting, staffing, and policy development while ensuring high-quality patient care and staff development.

The role requires a BSN, 3 years of nursing experience, NC RN licensure, and BLS. You will supervise staff, coordinate scheduling, and collaborate across departments to meet unit goals and organizational standards.

Qualifications

• Current or compact RN licensure in the state of North Carolina.
• BLS certification is required.
• Demonstrated supervision and staff leadership skills.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and participate in administrative and clinical activities for the nursing unit.
• Prepare and manage budgets, supervise staff, and develop policies aligned with program objectives.
• Administer and coordinate operational activities and resolve issues per department policies.
• Plan, implement, and evaluate program goals, updating policies as needed.
• Determine fiscal requirements, prepare budget recommendations, monitor expenditures, and authorize spending.
• Maintain communication among ancillary departments, physicians, nursing personnel, and other health care professionals.
• Plan and conduct staff meetings, training, and orientation programs to ensure compliance and development.
• Oversee personnel actions, resource management, records, and documentation for program evaluation.

This ensures the greatest precision and least amount of radiation exposure for procedures on the smallest most delicate hearts. We have an excellent team of nurses and techs dedicated to congenital heart disease.

Schedule

• Full Time: Monday – Friday, with off shift visibility and on call 24/7 including weekends to support the needs to the unit.

How you will make an impact

• Manage, coordinate, and participate in administrative and clinical activities related to a nursing program or hospital unit.
