The Peds Cardiac Stepdown is located in Duke Central Tower at Duke University Hospital. Peds Cardiac Stepdown has 19 beds that primarily have infants through young adult patients with congenital heart disease, cardiac transplant, and cardiology patients that are trach and ventilator dependent. Nurse to patient staffing ratio is 1:3. Orientation is 4–6 weeks, depending on experience level.
