Job summary

Duke University Health System in Durham, NC is seeking a Nurse Manager, Operations for the Pediatric Echocardiogram program. This on-site role reports to the unit leadership and requires a BSN, 3 years of nursing experience, and NC RN licensure.

Responsibilities

• Manage administrative and clinical activities related to a nursing program or unit.
• Prepare budgets, supervise staff, and develop policies aligned with program objectives.
• Coordinate operational activities and resolve issues per departmental policies.
• Plan, develop, implement, and evaluate goals and update policies as needed.
• Determine fiscal requirements, prepare budget recommendations, monitor expenditures, and authorize spending.
• Maintain communication among ancillary departments, physicians, nursing personnel, and other healthcare professionals.
• Plan and conduct staff meetings, training, and employee orientation programs to ensure compliance and development.
• Oversee personnel actions, resource management, records, reports, and documentation for program evaluation.

This ensures the greatest precision and least amount of radiation exposure for procedures on the smallest most delicate hearts. We have an excellent team of nurses and techs dedicated to congenital heart disease.

Schedule:

• Full Time: Monday – Friday, with off shift visibility and on call 24/7 including weekends to support the needs to the unit.

How you will make an impact

• Manage, coordinate, and participate in administrative and clinical activities related to a nursing program or hospital unit.
• Prepare and manage budgets, supervise staff, and develop policies and procedures aligned with program objectives.

What you will need

• BSN Required
• 3 years of nursing experience
• Current or compact RN licensure in the state of North Carolina required.
• BLS required.
• Demonstrated supervision and staff leadership skills.
• Experience with scheduling and workforce coordination.
