Job Summary and Qualifications
  • The Manager for Occupational and Employee Health ensures high-quality patient-centered care by supervising the services of the Occupational and Employee Health Program, designed to promote employee wellness, maintain productivity, decrease absenteeism, and promote cost containment.
  • The Manager administers policies, procedures, and guidelines to help align the workforce with strategic goals to manage employee health and safety.
  • Plans, implements, and evaluates systems and program plans to provide integrated services that meet the occupational needs of participating facilities and patients.
  • Investigates, evaluates, and takes appropriate action on all active exposures, injuries, near misses, and reports/complaints of hazardous conditions.
  • Oversees pre-employment screenings, annual health screenings and tests, immunizations, and incidents of work injury or illness.
  • Manages and ensures the timely processing of worker’s compensation claims. Communicates with department directors and payroll regarding the status of employees served.
  • Ensures compliance with current health and safety legislation and regulations.
  • Ensures accuracy of all logs, periodic reports, employee files, and databases.
  • Supports the achievement of internal/external benchmarks, accreditations, and designations.
  • Participates in orientation of new employees and provides continuous education to increase health and safety awareness at all organizational levels.
  • Works collaboratively with all departments and employee health & safety related programs and serves on related committees.
  • Serves as liaison with legal counsel, governmental bodies, and regulating agencies.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Practices and adheres to the “Code of Conduct” and “Mission and Values”.
Qualifications Needed
Education and Experience:
  • Associate Degree in Nursing required.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing preferred.
  • 2+ years’ experience in nursing required.
  • Experience in Employee Health or management preferred.
Licensure/Certification/Training:
  • Currently licensed as a registered professional nurse in the state(s) of practice and/or has an active compact license, in accordance with law and regulation.
  • BLS certification.
