Job summary

MercyOne Dubuque Medical Center, part of MercyOne Health System, seeks a Nurse Manager to lead the Medical Unit, directing staff, operations, and clinical outcomes. You’ll champion patient-centered care, drive staff development, and uphold Magnet hospital standards.

Qualifications include a BSN and Iowa RN licensure with supervisory experience; MS preferred. This on-site leadership role offers collaboration across multidisciplinary teams and opportunities for advancement within the MercyOne

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited school of nursing and a bachelor’s degree is required.
• Master’s degree is preferred.
• Current Iowa RN license and at least two (2) years of relevant clinical nursing experience.
• Relevant supervisory experience is preferred.
• BLS certification within three (3) months of hire.
• Mandatory Reporter training within six (6) months of hire.
• Specialty practice certification is preferred.
• Must be able to operate in a collaborative, shared leadership environment.
• Must possess integrity, honesty, and caring with the ability to inspire others.

Responsibilities

• Provides leadership to professional and frontline staff; manages resources, staffing, training, and performance.
• Develops departmental plans and priorities; collaborates with Nursing Operations Managers.
• Ensures safety, regulatory compliance, and quality outcomes in patient care areas.
• Drives clinical standards, performance metrics, and patient-centered care initiatives.
• Leads change initiatives, mentoring, and succession planning within the nursing team.
