The Critical Care Department (CCU) at North Alabama Medical Center (NAMC) in Florence, Alabama offers Registered Nurses the opportunity to work in a dynamic, high-acuity environment that bridges critical care and medical-surgical nursing. This department is ideal for RNs who thrive on critical thinking, continuous learning, and hands‑on patient care while building strong clinical skills.

In the CCU, nurses care for patients who require close monitoring and advanced interventions, including cardiac and respiratory conditions, post‑operative recovery, and complex medical diagnoses. With a strong focus on evidence‑based practice and patient‑centered care, nurses play a vital role in managing telemetry, titrating medications, and collaborating closely with physicians and interdisciplinary teams to deliver exceptional outcomes.

Serve as the accountable leader for all aspects of Critical Care.

Drive continuous improvement in outcomes, cost of care, and patient satisfaction.

Partner with quality leadership to ensure compliance with accreditation standards and advance toward becoming a highly reliable organization.

Collaborate with other service line leaders, facility leadership, and system executives to provide consistent, patient-centered care.

Support provider and staff recruitment, retention, and engagement.

Demonstrate values through inspirational leadership and a commitment to patient-centered outcomes.

Collaboration: Partner with physicians, advanced practice providers, and hospital leadership to enhance care coordination, patient experience, and service delivery.

Oversee ongoing staff education, competency, and adherence to clinical and patient safety standards.

Schedule: Monday - Friday 8:00AM- 4:00PM

What we’re looking for

Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)

Current Alabama RN license (or eligible for licensure).

Three or more years of experience in all aspects of medical surgical nursing and a minimum of 2 years supervisory experience. Proven ability to lead multidisciplinary teams and build effective relationships within a team.

Experience with budgeting, financial management, and resource allocation in acute care settings.

Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and implement performance‑improvement initiatives.

BLS required and ACLS preferred (or obtained within a defined timeframe).
