Job summary

Mercy Hospital Southeast is seeking a Manager-Nursing Services to support the Chief Nursing Officer in delivering safe, high-quality care across the Med Surg and Outpatient/Cardiac Cath Lab. The role ensures staffing adequacy, efficient resource use, and achievement of productivity targets.

Ideal candidates will have 3+ years in procedural nursing, Missouri RN licensure (or compact), BSN preferred, and leadership experience. Certifications (BLS/ACLS/PALS) within 90 days of hire are required.

Qualifications

• RN licensure in Missouri or compact licensure required.
• BSN preferred; graduate of approved nursing school.
• Minimum three years nursing experience in procedural area.
• Leadership/management experience preferred.
• BLS, ACLS, PALS certification required within 90 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Chief Nursing Officer in delivering safe, quality, and cost-efficient care.
• Ensure competent staff in Med Surg and Outpatient/Cardiac Cath Lab.
• Optimize resource utilization and meet productivity/financial goals.
• Collaborate with physicians and staff to improve processes across the continuum.

Responsible for assisting the Chief Nursing Officer in the delivery of safe, quality and cost efficient care by having competent staff members in the Med Surg and Outpatient Departments. Insures efficient utilization of available resources and meets productivity and/or financial goals. Meets customer service satisfaction goals. Works collaboratively and effectively with other administrative personnel, physicians and staff from other areas throughout the Hospital to enhance communication, share pertinent data and improve processes across the continum.

Position Details:

Manager-Nursing Services Location: Mercy Hospital Southeast, Cape Girardeau, MO Department: Cardiac Cath Lab Status: Full-Time - 40 hours/week - Salary Exempt

Qualifications:

• Education: Graduate of an approved school of nursing. BSN preferred.
• Licensure: Is personally responsible for obtaining, and maintaining, a current Missouri RN license and/or compact licensure in which nursing duties are performed. Must meet all state board of nursing requirements.
• Experience: Minimum three years nursing experience in procedural area. Previous leadership/management experience preferred.
• Certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS Certification required within 90 days of hire.
• Other: Demonstrates skill in human relations and communications is required. Must have broad understanding of the patient care process and be able to demonstrate clinical expertise in their area of responsibility.

Our Mercy health system was founded by the Sisters of Mercy in 1986. But our heritage goes back more than 195 years. It began with an Irish woman named Catherine McAuley, who was determined to help women and children in Dublin experiencing poverty. Though Catherine had a modest upbringing, she received an unexpected inheritance that allowed her to fulfill that dream. In 1827, she opened the first House of Mercy in Dublin, intending to teach skills to women and educate children. Many volunteers came to help. A few years later, Catherine founded the Sisters of Mercy, one of the first religious orders whose Sisters were free to walk among the poor and visit them in their homes. In 1843, the Sisters of Mercy came to the United States. In 1856, they traveled to St. Louis. In the years to come, they would establish hospitals throughout the Midwest. Many of these would join together in 1986 as Mercy.
