Job summary

UMass Memorial Health is seeking a Nurse Manager to lead the Diagnostic Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory and the Gannett Unit, a 29-bed Medical-Surgical/Cardiac inpatient unit. You will drive clinical excellence, staffing plans, and financial stewardship while fostering a collaborative, patient-centered culture.

The role requires MSN/BSN with enrollment in MSN, MA RN license, and strong leadership and analytical skills to support high-quality patient care and safety across departments.

Qualifications

• MSN or BSN with enrollment in an MSN program.
• MSN completion within 5 years of employment at Nurse Manager level.
• Massachusetts Registered Nurse License.
• Broad and thorough knowledge of nursing discipline.
• Previous leadership/management experience.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Preferred: 3+ years of related leadership experience in the field.

Responsibilities

• Lead clinical practice and patient flow to ensure safe, high-quality care.
• Oversee staffing, scheduling, hiring, and budgeting for the unit(s).
• Partner with safety and leadership for orientation and staff development.
• Provide oversight of staff performance reviews and continuing education.
• Ensure proper documentation for recruiting, onboarding, and separations.
• Align unit goals with organizational standards and financial performance.
