Job summary

Mary Washington Healthcare is seeking a Nurse Manager to lead day-to-day operations of the service, partnering with the Director and Nurse Educator to drive clinical and operational excellence. This role oversees staffing, quality initiatives, and staff development to ensure safe, patient-centered care.

The ideal candidate has a BSN, Virginia RN license, and prior leadership experience in a hospital setting, with a focus on collaboration and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• BSN from an accredited school required.
• MSN preferred.
• RN license Virginia or reciprocal state required.
• AHA BLS Provider CPR required at hire.
• NIHSS (Bluecloud) required within 90 days.
• Leadership Certification (ANCC or AONL) preferred.
• Minimum 5 years clinical nursing experience.
• Minimum 2 years management experience.
• Proficiency in verbal and written communication; experience with electronic systems.

Responsibilities

• Creates staffing plans and approves department schedules.
• Assists the Director in budget planning and management.
• Oversees education and orientation with the Clinical Nurse Specialist.
• Implements performance improvement initiatives and clinical outcomes.
• Ensures regulatory compliance and patient safety.
• Facilitates staff meetings and effective communication.
• Leads engagement initiatives with physicians and staff.
• Maintains records of communications and reports.
