Job summary

Mary Washington Healthcare in Fredericksburg, VA is seeking a Nurse Manager to lead day-to-day operations of the service and support caregivers in providing high-quality patient care.

The role collaborates with the Director, Nurse Educator/Clinical Nurse Specialist to maintain clinical and operational excellence, manage staffing, budget, and education plans, and ensure compliance with regulatory standards and quality initiatives.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Nursing (BSN) required.
• Masters degree in Nursing (MSN) preferred.
• Current RN license in Virginia or compact state.
• AHA BLS Provider CPR required at hire.
• NIHSS (Bluecloud) required within 90 days.
• Experience with electronic systems and programs.
• Minimum 5 years clinical nursing experience.
• Minimum 2 years management experience.
• Proficient in verbal and written communication and computerized systems.
• Collaborates with physicians, staff and Mary Washington Healthcare Associates.

Responsibilities

• Manages day-to-day activities of the service and supports associates.
• Develops and approves staff schedule; plans department staffing.
• Oversees departmental budget planning and management.
• Coordinates education and orientation with CNS.
• Drives performance improvement and quality initiatives.
• Ensures effective staff communication and meetings.
• Maintains compliance with regulatory requirements (JCAHO, EMTALA, VA health dept).
• On-call for care center; handles department reports and supplies.
