Job summary

Mount Carmel Behavioral Health Hospital in Columbus, OH, is seeking a Nurse Manager to lead a multidisciplinary team. Shift is 10a–6:30p, Monday–Friday, at an acute inpatient facility.

Responsibilities include census management, staffing, policy implementation, budgeting, and ensuring high standards of patient care. BSN preferred; RN license required; leadership experience in psychiatric or inpatient settings is valued.

Qualifications

• BSN or higher required or strongly preferred.
• Current RN license in State of facility required.
• Three years as an RN strongly preferred.
• Two years of RN experience required.
• Two years of RN experience with the facility's population preferred.
• One year of RN administrative/leadership experience required.

Responsibilities

• Anticipates and manages census and acuity, allocates nursing resources accordingly.
• Role models customer service and urgent emphasis on patient safety.
• Maintain standard of care and provide consultations in care delivery.
• Serve as clinical/service resource to nursing and other staff.
• Manage activities of staff and coordination between departments.
• Recruit, hire, and train new staff.
• Identify educational needs and develop training programs.
• Develop and implement facility policies and procedures.
• Prepare management reports on programs, services and quality initiatives.
• Perform budgeting and expenditure approvals.

Mount Carmel Behavioral Health Hospital is hiring a Nurse Manager!

Shift: 10a - 6:30p

Schedule: Monday - Friday

Pay Rage: $43.94 - $68.10 per hour (depending on years of experience)

Mount Carmel Behavioral Health, located in Columbus, Ohio, is a leading provider of acute inpatient care for adult men and women, age 18 and above, who have been experiencing mental or behavioral health challenges.

Responsibilities

• Anticipates and effectively manage changes in census and acuity and allocates nursing resources based on measurement of patient acuity/care needed
• Role models expectations related to customer service and demonstrates a sense of urgency related to the importance of patient safety
• Accountable for the standard of care at the facility, providing consultations and expertise in the delivery of care to patient.
• Serve as a clinical and service resource to nursing staff and other staff as assigned.
• Manage the activities of staff, coordinating safe and appropriate care between departments and disciplines.
• Manage and evaluate work activities of nursing, technical, clerical, service or maintenance staff for the unit, work group and other facility staff as directed.
• Analyze information/situation to choose the best solution(s) to solve problems.
• Responsible for recruitment, hiring and training of new staff.
• Identify the educational needs of others and develop educational or training programs.
• Assist with the development and implementation of organizational policies and procedures for the facility.
• Prepare reports to inform management of the status and implementation of programs, services and quality initiatives of the unit.
• Perform administrative or managerial functions such as planning budgets and authorizing expenditures.
• Provide direct care as needed.

Qualifications

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/SKILL REQUIREMENTS:

• BSN or higher strongly preferred
• Current registered nursing license in State of facility required
• Three years as a registered nurse strongly preferred
• Two years of registered nursing experience required
• Two years of prior experience as a registered nursing with patient population of the facility is preferred.
• One year of prior experience with the population required
• Prior experience as a house supervisor strongly preferred
• One year of charge RN or other administrative experience required.

LICENSES/DESIGNATIONS/CERTIFICATIONS:

• Current RN license as required by state.
• CPR and de-escalation/restraint certification required (training available upon hire and offered by facility).
• First aid may be required based on state or facility.
