Job summary

Recovery Unplugged in Austin, TX seeks an experienced Nurse Manager (RN) to lead the nursing team at our detox facility. The role oversees day-to-day operations, clinical oversight, and ensuring safe, compassionate care throughout detoxification.

Qualifications

• Current, active Texas Registered Nurse (RN) license required.
• Nursing leadership or management experience preferred.
• Experience in detox, substance use treatment, behavioral health, or related setting preferred.
• Knowledge of substance use disorders, withdrawal management, and regulatory requirements.
• Strong leadership, communication, organizational and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Plan, direct, and supervise the daily activities of the nursing department.
• Provide leadership, guidance, and support to RNs, LVNs/LPNs, and other nursing staff.
• Ensure appropriate nursing coverage based on client needs and regulatory requirements.
• Oversee nursing care from admission through discharge including assessment and care planning.
• Collaborate with medical providers, clinical staff, and leadership to promote safety and continuity of care.
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations and organizational policies.
• Maintain infection-control practices and safe medication-management procedures.

Nurse Manager – Detox

Location: Austin, TX
Facility: Detoxification Treatment Facility

Recovery Unplugged owns and operates substance use and behavioral health treatment facilities across the United States. We are seeking an experienced and compassionate Nurse Manager (RN) to lead the nursing team at our Austin, Texas detox facility.

The Nurse Manager is responsible for the overall leadership, supervision, and day-to-day operations of the nursing department. This position works closely with facility leadership, medical providers, and the clinical team to ensure clients receive safe, compassionate, and high-quality care throughout the detoxification process.

We are looking for a strong, hands‑on nursing leader who is passionate about behavioral health and substance use treatment, thrives in a fast‑paced environment, and is committed to supporting both our clients and nursing staff.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan, direct, and supervise the daily activities of the nursing department.
• Provide leadership, guidance, and support to RNs, LVNs/LPNs, and other nursing staff.
• Ensure appropriate and consistent nursing coverage based on client needs, census, and regulatory requirements.
• Oversee the delivery of nursing care from admission through discharge, including assessment, care planning, implementation, monitoring, and evaluation.
• Work collaboratively with medical providers, clinical staff, and facility leadership to promote client safety and continuity of care.
• Ensure the nursing department remains compliant with all applicable federal, state, and local regulations, licensing requirements, and organizational policies.
• Maintain established infection‑control practices, standard precautions, medication‑management procedures, and safety protocols.
• Participate in the recruitment, onboarding, orientation, training, and ongoing education of nursing staff.
• Complete performance evaluations and provide ongoing coaching, feedback, and corrective guidance when necessary.
• Promote a positive, professional, and team‑oriented work environment.
• Ensure clients are treated with dignity, compassion, privacy, and respect at all times.
• Assist with direct patient care and nursing operations when needed.
• Participate in quality improvement and risk‑management initiatives.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.

• Experience in detox, substance use disorder treatment, behavioral health, psychiatric nursing, or a related setting strongly preferred.
• Knowledge of substance use disorders, withdrawal management, behavioral health treatment models, and applicable compliance and regulatory requirements.
• Strong leadership, communication, organizational, and problem‑solving skills.
• Ability to effectively manage staff and priorities in a fast‑paced healthcare environment.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with medical, clinical, administrative, and support teams.
• Must maintain all certifications required by the State of Texas and the facility.
