Job summary

Recovery Unplugged in Austin, TX seeks an experienced Nurse Manager (RN) to lead the nursing team at our detox facility. The role oversees day-to-day operations, clinical oversight, and ensuring safe, compassionate care throughout detoxification.

The ideal candidate has strong leadership, regulatory knowledge, and a hands-on approach to staffing, training, and quality improvement in a behavioral health/substance use treatment setting.

Qualifications

• Current, active Texas Registered Nurse (RN) license required.
• Nursing leadership or management experience preferred.
• Experience in detox, substance use treatment, behavioral health, or related setting preferred.
• Knowledge of substance use disorders, withdrawal management, and regulatory requirements.
• Strong leadership, communication, organizational and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Plan, direct, and supervise the daily activities of the nursing department.
• Provide leadership, guidance, and support to RNs, LVNs/LPNs, and other nursing staff.
• Ensure appropriate nursing coverage based on client needs and regulatory requirements.
• Oversee nursing care from admission through discharge including assessment and care planning.
• Collaborate with medical providers, clinical staff, and leadership to promote safety and continuity of care.
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations and organizational policies.
• Maintain infection-control practices and safe medication-management procedures.
• Participate in recruitment, onboarding, and ongoing nursing staff education.
• Perform evaluations and provide coaching and feedback to staff.
• Promote professional, team-oriented work environment and patient dignity.
