Job summary

Pyramid Healthcare is seeking an LPN to join the New River Valley Inpatient team in Radford, VA. This per diem role focuses on nursing care for individuals in recovery from substance use disorders and behavioral health concerns, working with an interdisciplinary team to promote recovery and stability.

The LPN will perform assessments, administer medications, and monitor withdrawal management with tools like CIWA and COWS.

Qualifications

Active LPN license in Virginia or compact with VA
Experience in behavioral health, withdrawal management, or addiction recovery is preferred
Familiarity with clinical documentation, assessments, and MAR/eMAR processes

Responsibilities

Provide direct nursing care and clinical support per physician orders and standards
Perform nursing assessments, screenings, observations, admissions, and documentation
Administer medications and monitor effects and side effects
Monitor withdrawal management using CIWA/COWS and other tools
Provide health education to clients and families
Support physicians and NPs with assessments, med management, and treatment planning
Communicate significant clinical findings to the treatment team

Schedule: Per diem, As Needed, 7:00 PM–7:00 AM
Pay: $24–$29/hour

What You'll Do

As an LPN, you will:

Provide direct nursing care and clinical support in accordance with physician orders, nursing standards, and organizational policies.
Complete nursing assessments, screenings, observations, admissions, and clinical documentation.
Administer medications and monitor effectiveness, client response, and potential side effects.
Monitor and support withdrawal management, including CIWA, COWS, and other clinical assessment tools as appropriate.
Provide medication and health education to clients and families.
Support physicians, nurse practitioners, and other medical providers with assessments, medication management, and treatment planning.
Monitor changes in client condition and communicate significant clinical findings to the treatment team.
Maintain medications, medical equipment, and clinical supplies according to regulatory and organizational standards.
Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team to promote continuity of care and successful treatment outcomes.
Maintain confidentiality and complete required training and documentation.

Current, active LPN license in Virginia
Compassionate, dependable, and clinically minded nursing professional
Interest or experience in behavioral health, substance use disorder treatment, withdrawal management, or addiction recovery is a plus.
