Job summary

Pyramid Healthcare in Radford, VA seeks an LPN for the New River Valley Inpatient program. You will provide hands-on nursing care to individuals in treatment for substance use disorders and behavioral health concerns, working with an experienced interdisciplinary team.

Schedule is 7:00 PM–7:00 AM, with pay of $24–$29/hour. This role emphasizes recovery, stability, and compassionate clinical care, with minimal physical demands and no IVs or blood draws.

Qualifications

• Current, active LPN license in Virginia.
• Compassionate, dependable, and clinically minded nursing professional.
• Interest or experience in behavioral health, substance use disorder treatment, withdrawal management, or addiction recovery is a plus.
• New graduates and nurses transitioning into behavioral health are encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care and clinical support according to physician orders and policies.
• Complete nursing assessments, screenings, admissions, and clinical documentation.
• Administer medications and monitor effectiveness and side effects.
• Monitor withdrawal management and use CIWA, COWS as appropriate.
• Provide health education to clients and families.
• Support physicians, NPs, and other providers with assessments and treatment planning.
• Communicate significant changes in client condition to the treatment team.
• Maintain medications and clinical supplies per standards.
• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to ensure continuity of care.

What You’ll Do

As An LPN, You Will

• Provide direct nursing care and clinical support in accordance with physician orders, nursing standards, and organizational policies.
• Complete nursing assessments, screenings, observations, admissions, and clinical documentation.
• Administer medications and monitor effectiveness, client response, and potential side effects.
• Monitor and support withdrawal management, including CIWA, COWS, and other clinical assessment tools as appropriate.
• Provide medication and health education to clients and families.
• Support physicians, nurse practitioners, and other medical providers with assessments, medication management, and treatment planning.
• Monitor changes in client condition and communicate significant clinical findings to the treatment team.
• Maintain medications, medical equipment, and clinical supplies according to regulatory and organizational standards.
• Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team to promote continuity of care and successful treatment outcomes.
• Maintain confidentiality and complete required training and documentation.
