Job summary

Jefferson County Public Schools is seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to function in the school health office at Conway Middle. You will collaborate with the RN/health staff to provide nursing care and health services to students within the Kentucky Board of Nursing guidelines.

The role requires an active KY LPN license (Interstate Compact recognition) and at least one year of nursing experience, working under a board-approved salary schedule in a 195-day work year.

Qualifications

• Current Kentucky Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license or license recognized by the KY Board of Nursing via Interstate Compact.
• At least 1 year of successful nursing experience.

Responsibilities

• Provide health services as outlined by the Kentucky Board of Nursing Scope of Practice for RNs and APRNs under direction and delegation.
• Collaborate with the assigned RN and/or Health Services staff to support student health and wellness in Conway Middle.
• Work with students, staff and families to maintain health services within the school setting.

SCOPE OF RESPONSIBILITIES:

Collaborates with the assigned Registered Nurse (RN) and/or Health Services Nurse Practitioners who provide direction and delegation (APRN) to Provide health services as outlined by the Kentucky Board of Nursing Scope of Practice for RNs and Advisory Opinion Statement on Roles of School Nurses in School Nursing Practice. Works with students, staff and families to support health and wellness in assigned work location(s).

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

• Current license as a Kentucky Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) or license recognized by the KY Board of Nursing
  through the Interstate Compact
• One (1) year of successful experience
