The University of Kentucky HealthCare is seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to provide comprehensive, patient-centered care under the direction of an RN. Shift

Must be able to work three twelve-hour shifts each week with some weekends and holidays required; shift to be determined by the hiring manager as either 7a-730p and/or 7p-730a.

Job Summary

The LPN model follows the Licensed Practical Nursing Scope of Practice deemed by the Kentucky Board of Nursing. Under the direction of an RN, the primary responsibilities for this position consist of providing comprehensive, continuous and patient centered care which includes: on-going assessments, documenting, planning, implementing, teaching, and evaluating a comprehensive nursing plan of care; delivering direct patient care; ensuring patient satisfaction; delegating duties for Nursing Care Technicians (Nursing Assistant); and adhering to University policies and procedures as well as federal, state and local regulations. Furthermore, this environment supports collaborative efforts among the nursing staff and the team of physicians to increase communication and enhance expected patient outcomes and the patient/ family experience.
