Job summary

Cascadia Senior Living on Bainbridge Island seeks an Assistant Director of Nursing to partner with the Director of Nursing in coordinating health and supportive services for residents. You will oversee daily clinical operations, supervise care teams, and ensure proactive, quality care while interacting with residents, families, and the wider community.

The role requires a valid LPN/RN license, 2+ years in geriatric nursing, supervisory experience, and strong communication.

Qualifications

• LPN or RN degree and active license required.
• Ability to creatively problem-solve in resident care and staff management.
• Minimum 2 years in geriatric nursing including med administration and pharmacy experience.
• 1 year in supervisory/management with budgets, staff development, training, scheduling.
• Basic computer knowledge and aptitude to learn company applications.
• Current First Aid and CPR card.
• Pass a Criminal Background and fingerprint check.
• Compassion and interest in working with seniors.
• Flexible schedule including weekends/holidays/overtime.
• Ability to relate with residents, families, and staff.
• Maintain clean, safe environment; read/write/speak English; meet health/education requirements.
• Work independently; maintain Food Handler's card.

Responsibilities

• Foster resident-centered planning and services.
• Assess health, functional, and psychosocial status; create service plans.
• Coordinate with physicians, discharge planners, nurses, home health, case managers, state personnel.
• Delegate nursing tasks per laws; communicate with residents and families.
• Seek additional expertise to meet resident needs and proper practices.
• Train, supervise, and monitor staff in care delivery and medication management.
• Keep residents and families informed about health care needs.
• Collaborate with the Director of Nursing to address urgent health concerns.
• Ensure timely documentation of resident care and records.
• Stay up-to-date with regulations and apply changes in care.
• Represent the residence in marketing and community functions.
