Navigator Homes of Martha’s Vineyard seeks an experienced Assistant Director of Nursing / Staff Development Coordinator to join our nursing leadership team on-site in Massachusetts.

The role supports the Director of Nursing in delivering high-quality resident care, regulatory compliance, and ongoing nursing education. The incumbent leads staff development, orientation, competency validation, and clinical training to empower our nursing team.

Qualifications

• Current Massachusetts RN license in good standing – required.
• Minimum of 2 years of nursing supervisory or leadership experience preferred.
• Long-term care, skilled nursing, senior living, or similar healthcare experience preferred.
• Experience with staff development, clinical education, orientation, or competency training preferred.
• Knowledge of CMS requirements and Massachusetts healthcare regulations.
• Strong leadership, communication, presentation, and organizational skills.
• Ability to coach and develop clinical staff at varying experience levels.
• Proficiency with electronic learning systems and Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Director of Nursing in planning, organizing, directing, and evaluating nursing services.
• Supervise nursing staff with leadership, coaching, and performance management.
• Ensure compliance with federal and state regulations and facility standards.
• Monitor resident care and participate in quality improvement initiatives.
• Support survey readiness and plans of correction as needed.
• Coordinate nursing staffing and clinical coverage when required.
• Investigate incidents, accidents, resident concerns, and clinical issues.
• Support infection prevention, medication management, risk management, and resident safety.
• Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings and resident care planning.
• Promote resident rights, safety, dignity, and quality of life.
• Serve as acting Director of Nursing in the DON’s absence, as appropriate.
• Coordinate and conduct nursing components of new employee orientation.
• Develop and facilitate ongoing staff education and competency assessments.
