Navigator Homes of Martha’s Vineyard is seeking an experienced Assistant Director of Nursing / Staff Development Coordinator (ADON/SDC) to join our nursing leadership team on Martha’s Vineyard, MA.

This dual-role works with the Director of Nursing to support resident care, regulatory compliance, and staff development, ensuring knowledgeable, skilled nursing teams deliver exceptional resident-centered care.

Qualifications

• Current Massachusetts RN license in good standing.
• Minimum of 2 years of nursing supervisory or leadership experience preferred.
• Long-term care, skilled nursing, senior living, or similar healthcare experience preferred.
• Experience with staff development, clinical education, orientation, or competency training preferred.
• Knowledge of CMS requirements, Massachusetts healthcare regulations, infection control practices, and long-term care operations.
• Strong leadership, communication, presentation, and organizational skills.
• Ability to coach, educate, and develop clinical staff at varying levels of experience.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced healthcare environment.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Director of Nursing in planning, organizing, directing, and evaluating nursing services.
• Supervise nursing staff and provide leadership, coaching, guidance, and performance management.
• Ensure compliance with federal and state regulations, facility policies, and clinical standards.
• Monitor resident care and clinical outcomes and participate in quality improvement initiatives.
• Support survey preparedness and assist with plans of correction.
• Assist with nursing staffing coordination and clinical coverage as needed.
• Investigate and follow up on incidents, accidents, resident concerns, and clinical issues.
• Support infection prevention, medication management, risk management, and resident safety initiatives.
• Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings and resident care planning.
• Promote resident rights, safety, dignity, and quality of life.
• Serve as acting Director of Nursing in the DON’s absence, as appropriate.
