Presbyterian Santa Fe Medical Center is seeking a Nurse Extern to support RNs with patient care, vital signs, and education. This student-oriented role offers hands-on learning in a supervised setting at our Santa Fe campus.

The position is part-time with varied shifts; compensation ranges from $18.33 to $30.24 per hour. Eligible nursing students gain tuition, certification reimbursement, and extensive wellness benefits.

Competenze

• Must be enrolled in a State approved Nursing program.
• Eligible for graduation within the ADN/BSN timelines or one year healthcare experience.
• BLS certification required.

Mansioni

Responsibilities:

Nurse Interns responsibilities are:

• Assist registered nurses (RNs) with patient care activities, including vital signs monitoring, administering medications, and wound care.
• Provide basic patient care, such as bathing, feeding, and assisting with mobility.
• Observe and document patient conditions and report any changes to the supervising RN.
• Participate in patient education and discharge planning.
• Maintain a clean and safe environment for patients and staff.
• Collaborate with the healthcare team to ensure high-quality patient care.

Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or GED
• Must be currently enrolled in a State approved Program of Nursing
• Must be eligible for graduation within 1 year of an ADN program, or within 18 months of the BSN program or have 1 year Health care work experience if they are not within 1 year or 18 months of graduation.
• BLS
• Santa Fe resident preferred
