Job summary

Ascension is seeking a PRN Day Shift CNA/PCA to join the ICU at St. Francis Hospital in Milwaukee, WI. You will support patient care under the supervision of a preceptor and help with daily living activities, vital signs, and basic comfort measures.

Minimum requirements include a high school diploma, completion of one nursing clinical, and a current BLS certification. CNA/PCA experience is preferred. This role emphasizes compassionate service and teamwork within a Catholic health system.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Successful completion of nursing clinical with grade C or above.
• BLS Provider from American Heart Association required before hire.

Responsibilities

• Complete nursing orders under preceptor; assist with activities of daily living and vital signs.
• Document observations and data to preceptor or staff.
• Assist with patient condition assessments and care planning by reporting results.
• Perform additional tasks, including environmental services and transporting patients for diagnostics.

How you’ll make an impact in this role

• Complete assigned nursing orders as directed by preceptor, including assisting patient with activities of daily living and taking vital signs.

• Document and report observations and discrete data elements topreceptor or other appropriate staff.

• Assist preceptor with overall assessments of patient condition and development of plan of care by reporting test results and patient observations.

• Perform other tasks as assigned, including environmental services and preparing/transporting patients for diagnostic services.

What minimum requirements you’ll need

Licensure/Certification/Registration

• BLS Provider credentialed from the American Heart Association (AHA) obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.

Education

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.

• Successful completion of one semester of nursing clinical (preferably a med-surg clinical) with a grade of C or above required.

Work Experience

• CNA/PCA experience preferred.
