Job summary

The Informaticist Registered Nurse (RN) at Veterans Affairs exercises leadership in the assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of hardware and software applications integrated with the electronic health record (EHR) and related programs.

They collaborate with interdisciplinary teams nationwide to optimize health information technology, develop data visualizations and dashboards in Power BI, and drive measurable improvements in patient care and workflow efficiency.

Qualifications

Formal training in informatics with at least 2 years in Nursing Informatics.
Minimum 3 years of clinical nursing experience including bedside care.
Experience with data visualization dashboards in Power BI.
Experience with Oracle Health/Cerner EHR and/or EHR migration.
NI-BC Informatics Certification preferred.

Responsibilities

Lead assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of hardware/software in the EHR environment.
Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams across VA facilities.
Maintain relationships with VA staff nationwide.
Ensure program-level outcomes are measurable and documented.
Demonstrate leadership in applying Lean or Six Sigma methodologies.
