Job summary

HHSC seeks a capable RN II for direct care at the San Angelo State Supported Living Center. The role involves direct resident care, medication administration, and teamwork with the interdisciplinary staff to ensure safety and quality.

Evening shifts are available, with potential for additional pay for weekend or night work. The Direct Care RN will document care in the medical record, conduct rounds, and participate in QA/QI activities while ensuring compliance with HHSC and SSLC regulations.

Qualifications

• Licensed to practice as a registered nurse in Texas.
• Bachelor's Degree is preferred.
• At least six months of experience as a practicing RN is preferred.
• Knowledge of state regulations and facility operations for SSLCs.

Responsibilities

• Provides assessment, care and treatment to residents in a State Supported Living Center.
• Administers medications, immunizations, and treatments per care plans.
• Monitors weight, vital signs and diet; documents in EHR.
• Collaborates with interdisciplinary team to ensure high-quality care.
• Responds to emergencies and supports staff training and QA/QI initiatives.
