Job summary

Health & Human Services Commission (HHSC) seeks a Direct Care RN II at the San Angelo State Supported Living Center in Carlsbad, TX. The role involves direct nursing care for individuals in SSLC settings, with morning and evening shifts and potential extra pay for evenings, nights, weekends, or maximum-security locations.

The RN will perform routine tasks, assess and treat residents, document in electronic records, and coordinate with the healthcare team to ensure high-quality care.

Qualifications

• Direct Care RN performs routine nursing tasks and documents healthcare needs.
• Communicates with direct care staff, physicians/ PCP, administration and other nursing staff.
• Assists with LVNs and CMA services as needed and supports QA/QI initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Attend regular shifts (Morning/Evening) and participate in required scheduling.
• Administer medications, immunizations and treatments and monitor patient responses.
• Document and report pertinent treatments and observations in medical records.
