Job summary

Tappahannock Hospital in Richmond, VA is seeking a Nurse Extern for Summer 2027. Under RN supervision, you will assist with direct and indirect patient care tasks and participate in rounds with physicians. Shift flexibility may be required to meet unit needs.

Qualifications

• Completion of first semester junior year in a BSN program.
• Associate Degree or Diploma programs: completion of first year or a minimum of two semesters of basic nursing courses.
• Current BLS/CPR certification (AHA BLS HCP) preferred.
• Able to follow supervisor guidance and unit policies.

Responsibilities

• Assist with activities of daily living and patient comfort.
• Support nursing staff with safety, nutrition, and basic procedures as directed.
• Maintain a clean, safe environment and assist with supply inventory.
