The Hospitals of Providence - East Campus is seeking a Nurse Extern to support RN staff while nursing students gain diverse clinical experience. This per diem role involves aiding in patient care planning, execution, observation, and reporting to RNs as part of a guided training program aligned to state nursing board scope.

Open to students currently enrolled in an accredited RN program, with AHA BLS certification.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in an accredited RN program; upon completion of first clinical rotation.
• AHA BLS certification required.

Responsibilities

• The Nurse Extern role is designed to provide expanded clinical experience for RN nursing students and to assist the Registered Nursing staff by performing patient care activities, including participating in patient care planning, implementation, observation, and evaluation, and reporting significant observations to a Registered Nurse.
