Job summary

Saint Vincent Hospital in Worcester, MA is seeking a Nurse Extern to support RN staff on med-surg units, including a primary stroke center and a long-term acute care unit. You will gain expanded clinical experience while assisting with patient care activities under supervision.

This role requires current enrollment in an accredited RN program and CPR certification; completion of first clinical rotation is expected.

Qualifications

• Education: Currently enrolled in an accredited RN program, and upon completion of first clinical rotation.
• Certifications: CPR.

Responsibilities

• Participates in patient care planning, implementation, observation, and evaluation, as well as reporting significant observations to a Registered Nurse.
• Collaborates with multidisciplinary team members to provide the very best care for our med-surg patients in our advanced facilities that include a primary stroke center and a long-term acute care unit.
• The Nurse Extern role is designed to provide expanded clinical experience for senior professional (RN) nursing students and to assist the Registered Nursing staff by performing patient care activities.
• Performs related duties as required
