Job summary

MetroWest Medical Center in Framingham is seeking a Nurse Extern to support RN staff and gain expanded clinical experience in med-surg units, including a primary stroke center and a long-term acute care unit.

You will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, participate in patient care planning, and report observations to RNs. Current RN program enrollment and CPR certification are required to qualify for this extern opportunity.

Qualifications

• Education: Currently enrolled in an accredited RN program, and upon completion of first clinical rotation.
• Certifications: CPR.

Responsibilities

• Assist Registered Nursing staff by performing patient care activities.
• Participates in patient care planning, implementation, observation, and evaluation, reporting significant observations to a Registered Nurse.
• Collaborates with multidisciplinary team to provide care in med-surg units including a primary stroke center and long-term acute care unit.
• Performs related duties as required.
