Job summary

MetroWest Medical Center is seeking a Nurse Extern to provide expanded clinical experience and assist Registered Nursing staff in patient care activities. You will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to plan, implement, observe, and evaluate care for med-surg patients in facilities that include a primary stroke center and a long-term acute care unit.

Eligible candidates are currently enrolled in an accredited RN program, with CPR certification, and a commitment to developing clinical skills

Qualifications

• Education: Currently enrolled in an accredited RN program, and upon completion of first clinical rotation.
• Certifications: CPR.

Responsibilities

• The Nurse Extern role is designed to provide expanded clinical experience for senior professional (RN) nursing students and to assist the Registered Nursing staff by performing patient care activities.
• Participates in patient care planning, implementation, observation, and evaluation, as well as reporting significant observations to a Registered Nurse.
• Collaborates with multidisciplinary team members to provide the very best care for our med-surg patients in our advanced facilities that include a primary stroke center and a long-term acute care unit.
• Performs related duties as required
