Job summary

Parkridge East Hospital, part of HCA Healthcare, seeks a Nurse Extern to join the PRN Float Pool. Under RN supervision, you will deliver high-quality, patient-centered care and support the nursing staff in daily patient care tasks.

Eligible students currently enrolled in an accredited nursing program, with a pending BLS certification, will gain hands-on experience while developing competencies in ADLs, documentation, and safe patient environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Current BLS certification.
• Enrolled in an accredited RN nursing program.
• Can be considered for Nurse Extern after first nursing semester or CNA in first RN semester.
• Nonviolent Crisis Intervention must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide appropriate care for patient populations served in his/her department.
• Communicate pertinent information to appropriate individuals.
• Deliver compassionate, holistic care, while supporting the rights and dignity of all patients.
• Document patient care information in the appropriate computer screens.
• Assist with ADL’s for assigned patients.
