Job summary

Enrollment in an accredited ADN or BSN program is required, with first semester completed; AHA BLS certification is required; NCLEX must be passed within 12 months after graduation.

The Nurse Extern may be cross‑trained to operate as a Unit Secretary depending on the demands and needs of the unit in which they are assigned. The care is rendered under the supervision of a Registered Nurse. Performs other duties related to the work described herein.

Qualifications

• Education: Completion of the first semester of an accredited ADN or BSN program. Currently enrolled in an accredited ADN or BSN program.
• Experience: Completion of the first semester of an accredited ADN or BSN program.
• Licenses/Certificates: AHA BLS Certification.
• Other: 12 months to pass NCLEX after graduating.
