Transylvania Regional Hospital, part of the HCA Healthcare network, seeks a Nurse Extern to gain hands-on experience while supporting the nursing team. You will assist with ADLs, vital signs, wound care, and documentation, learning under a dedicated preceptor as you progress through your nursing program.

Qualifications

• Enrolled in an accredited nursing program.
• Current CNA certification.
• BCLS obtained within 30 days.
• CPI obtained within 90 days.

Responsibilities

• Provide essential care for patients including ADLs and vital signs.
• Assist with wound and catheter care and specimen collection.
• Document care accurately and communicate updates to the nursing team.
• Explain care plans to patients and families.
• Maintain clean, safe patient areas following infection prevention.
• Engage in learning opportunities and work with supervisor on career plan.
