Job summary

Transylvania Regional Hospital, a part of Mission Health, is offering PRN Nurse Extern opportunities in Brevard, North Carolina. You’ll join the nursing team and gain hands-on experience exploring the Registered Nurse role while delivering safe, compassionate care under supervision.

As you progress through your nursing program, you’ll perform essential tasks, learn infection control, document care, and communicate with the team to coordinate patient plans.

Qualifications

• BLS and crisis intervention prerequisites required within grace periods.
• Certified Nursing Assistant credential or enrollment in nursing program is required.
• Active enrollment in an accredited nursing program is expected.

Responsibilities

• Assist with activities of daily living and basic patient care under supervision.
• Support RN tasks such as vital signs, charting, and infection control.
• Document care accurately and communicate updates to the care team.
• Help patients and families understand care plans and safety procedures.
• Maintain a clean, safe patient environment and participate in learning opportunities.
