Job summary

St. Mary’s Medical Center is seeking a Nurse Extern (RN) to assist in patient care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse or Licensed Practical Nurse.

You will document patient information, maintain safety, and participate in shift reports and team conferences at a busy hospital in West Virginia. Qualified candidates are enrolled in an approved nursing program or recent graduates with a temporary permit and BLS certification.

Qualifications

• Enrolled in an approved nursing program or graduated with temporary permit.
• BLS certification required.
• Able to communicate effectively with patients and staff.

Responsibilities

• Assist in patient care under direction of RN or LPN.
• Document tasks on patient record and maintain confidentiality.
• Maintain safe environment and follow safety precautions.
• Participate in shift change reports and team conferences.
• Learn procedures and operate unit equipment as directed.
