Job summary

Aurora Health Care is seeking a Nurse Extern to support the Registered Nurse in delivering safe, patient-centered care and to gain hands-on experience in a clinical setting. Under RN supervision, you will perform delegated tasks, assist with ADLs, mobility, vital signs, documentation, and care coordination while developing foundational nursing skills and ensuring infection prevention and patient safety.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated competency in basic nursing fundamentals and safety.
• Ability to perform RN-approved clinical support under supervision.
• Experience with documentation in the EMR and basic patient care procedures.

Responsibilities

• Supports patients with activities of daily living (ADLs) under RN direction.
• Assists with mobility, transfers, and positioning.
• Obtains and documents routine clinical measurements like vital signs.
• Supports nutrition and hydration aligned with diet orders.
• Maintains a clean, safe patient environment and supports infection prevention.
