Job summary

Northwest Texas Healthcare System, a 495-bed facility serving Amarillo and surrounding areas, seeks a Nurse Educator to lead onboarding and ongoing staff education. You will oversee orientation, assign preceptors, and coordinate progress meetings with nursing leadership to ensure regulatory compliance and service excellence.

The role emphasizes patient-centered care, education excellence, and leadership in quality outcomes, with opportunities for growth within UHS and its subsidiaries.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
• Current license to practice nursing in Texas.
• BSN required OR national certification within one year of becoming a unit-based educator.
• Three years nursing experience, education experience preferred.
• Handle with Care certification annually.
• Current BLS certification upon hire or within 30 days and maintained throughout employment.

Responsibilities

• Onboard new hires onto the unit and coordinate orientation progress with preceptors and nursing leadership.
• Lead annual competency validation across units to ensure onboarding aligns with regulatory requirements.
• Support a culture of safety and Service Excellence in all customer groups.
• Collaborate with leadership to measure and improve clinical and support services.
