Nursing education is a practice specialty that seeks to improve community health by enhancing the professional practice and competence of registered nurses and other nursing personnel.
Scope of Work
This role collaborates with educator peers and other leaders to meet the educational needs of nursing across Corewell Health West through standardization, innovation, and evidence-based practice. Responsibilities include overseeing orientation programs for new hires and transfers, developing and evaluating competency programs, and addressing knowledge and skill gaps in staff. The educator designs educational opportunities to improve practice outcomes, fosters interprofessional learning, and acts as a mentor and coach throughout employees' career cycles. The role also applies research, evidence-based practice, and quality improvement principles in education and professional development.
