Job summary

Saint Joseph Health System in Mishawaka, IN, seeks a Clinical Nurse Educator to develop and lead critical care education across ICU and Progressive Care units. You’ll partner with frontline nurses, physicians, and leaders to implement evidence-based practice and elevate patient outcomes.

You will onboard new nurses, mentor staff, and drive curriculum design using simulation, hands-on learning, and real-world cases.

Qualifications

• MSN preferred or Bachelor’s degree required.
• RN license in Indiana; board eligible on hire or within 12 months; ANCC certification within 18 months.
• 3–5 years of critical care experience (ICU/ED/step-down).
• Strong written and verbal communication; curriculum design knowledge.

Responsibilities

What’s required:

Education: MSN preferred/Bachelor’s degree required.

Licensure: RN Indiana License. Board eligible upon hire or within 12 months. Obtain nursing certification through ANCC within 18 months of hire.

Experience: 3-5 years previous experience in critical care – Emergency department, critical care step down unit, intensive care unit or surgical ICU.

Other Job Requirements:

• Strong written/verbal communication skills.
• Knowledge of principles and methods for curriculum and training, design, teaching and instruction for individuals and groups for the measurement of training effects.
• Knowledge of human behavior and performance.
• Assigned hours within your shift, starting time, or days of work are subject to change based on departmental and/or organizational needs.
