Job summary

University of Oklahoma is seeking a licensed Registered Nurse to mentor new or junior case managers under general supervision. You will perform clinical tasks, assess high-risk patients, and support appropriate care plans within a case management framework.

Requires a Bachelor’s in Nursing or an equivalent RN with 36 months total nursing experience and Oklahoma RN license. Travel is required; work M-F, 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. Background check is mandatory.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Nursing required.
• 12 months of professional nursing experience required.
• Equivalency: Associate's degree in Nursing with 24 months experience accepted (total 36 months).

Responsibilities

• Mentors new or lower level case managers, guiding growth and development in the role.
• Performs clinical tasks and assessments for high-risk patients to ensure appropriate level of care.
• Participates in case management programs requiring clinical assessments.

Position Introduction:

This level is only available to Licensed Registered Nurses. Under general supervision, mentors new or lower level case managers, facilitating their growth and development in the role and ensuring their success in case management. Performs independently and requires a broad understanding of principles and practices. Performs additional clinical tasks and responsibilities that may be performed or undertaken by an RN including, but not limited to, responsibility for assessment of critical need or high risk patients to ensure that the appropriate level of care is prescribed and provided, and participation in case management programs that require clinical assessments.

Required Education and Experience:

• Bachelor's Degree in Nursing.
• 12 months of professional nursing experience.

Equivalent/ Substitution: Will accept an Associate's degree in Nursing and 24 months of professional nursing experience in lieu of the Bachelor's Degree for a total of 36 months professional nursing experience.

Required Certifications and Licenses:

• State of Oklahoma Registered Nurse Certification.

Department Preferences:

• One year of paid professional experience in direct service provision, care planning, and has provided services to the aging and/or disabled population
• Certified in Case Management
