Job summary

UMass Memorial Health seeks an experienced Nursing Manager in Care Coordination to lead daily department operations and ensure the delivery of high-quality patient care.

Responsibilities include coordinating staff, reviewing case management needs, participating in rounds, budgeting input, and ensuring compliance with regulatory standards. The role requires MA RN licensure, a BSN or managerial experience, and Case Management certification, with a minimum of two years of leadership experience.

Qualifications

• Current Massachusetts Registered Nurse licensure and registration.
• Bachelor’s degree in nursing or management experience.
• Case Management certification (at time of hire or within the first 12 months).
• Minimum of two years related clinical experience.

Responsibilities

• Direct and coordinate daily departmental function and planning for safe patient care.
• Collaborate with Care Coordination Manager to implement nursing practice daily.
• Coordinate age-appropriate patient care activities for defined staff.
• Review assignments and monitor nursing staff performance.
• Participate in Complex Rounds for long-stay patients and follow up on steps.
• Manage daily operations for staffing, bed management, and productivity.
• Support strategic planning and staff development initiatives.
• Ensure compliance with hospital policies and safety programs.
• Develop goals and procedures for efficient operations.
• Provide input for annual budget and capital equipment planning.
• Lead staff meetings and foster teamwork and respect across departments.
• Assist with interviewing, hiring, evaluations, scheduling, and disciplinary actions.
• Ensure regulatory compliance (Joint Commission, DPH, etc.).
• Promote effective leadership and professional development.
