Surgical Specialty and Surgical Progressive Care Unit Summary:
Surgical Specialty and Surgical Progressive Care work together as a dynamic 40-bed unit specializing in complex surgical care. Services include plastic surgery, colorectal surgery, ENT surgery, urology, bariatrics, surgical oncology, thoracic surgery, gynecologic surgery, and gynecologic oncology. With approximately 70% of patients admitted for oncology-related conditions, you'll work alongside a multidisciplinary team of physicians and residents. This is an exceptional opportunity to advance your clinical skills beyond general practice while remaining in one unit—caring for patients with complex needs requiring telemetry and continuous pulse oximetry monitoring.
As a Nurse Assistant, you'll work under the direction and supervision of the Registered Nurse (RN) to deliver compassionate, high-quality patient care that prioritizes safety and comfort. You'll be an integral part of the care team, providing valuable input to help the RN plan and implement individualized patient care strategies. You'll respond confidently to emergent situations following established protocols, continuously expand your clinical knowledge through ongoing education, and embody Henry Ford Health System's Team Member Standards of Excellence in every patient interaction.
