Job summary

Henry Ford Health in Detroit is seeking a Nurse Assistant to support the Med Surg team at Henry Ford St. John Hospital. The role involves under RN supervision providing essential patient care and contributing to care plans.

Responsibilities include assisting with safety and comfort needs, participating in ongoing education, and adhering to the system standards of excellence. CNA preferred, with pathways for Nursing students or Medical Assistants.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• CNA preferred.
• Completion of a Nurse Assistant program; other titles may apply but perform the same role.
• Enrollment in a nursing program or foreign trained RN may relocate.
• Medical Assistant program with or without experience.
• At least one year of NA/PCT/PAT experience.

Job Description

Location: Henry Ford St. John Hospital

Department: Med Surg

Schedule: 36hrs/week; 12hr Night Shift, 7:00pm-7:30am; Every other weekend; Every other holiday

Qualifications

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

• High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent.
• CNA preferred.
• Completion of a Nurse Assistant program (titles for similar programs may vary; e.g., Patient Care Technician (PCT) or Patient Assistant Technician (PAT) but perform the same job role.) OR May be currently enrolled in a nursing program and have successfully completed the Fundamentals of Nursing course. OR Foreign trained and licensed RN who has relocated to the United States and does not hold a Michigan Rn license. OR Medical Assistant program with OR without experience. OR At least one (1) year of previous experience in an NA, PCT, PAT, or similar job role.

Certifications/Licensures Required

• Complete BLS Heart Saver Certification during orientation.
