Job summary

McLaren Health Care in Mount Pleasant, MI, is seeking a Part-time Certified Nursing Assistant to support nursing staff in the Medical Surgical unit. You will perform delegated patient care activities, assist with daily living tasks, and help maintain a safe, compassionate care environment.

Responsibilities include assisting patients with hygiene, mobility, nutrition, and comfort, while following HIPAA/OSHA guidelines.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• State Certified Nursing Assistant certification is required.
• One month of job-related experience and/or training is required.
• BLS certification is required within 30 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Performs delegated patient care interventions to support RN-established goals.
• Delivers compassionate support, attention, and assistance to patients and families.
• Provides physical support for daily activities and personal hygiene (bathing, feeding, dressing, mobility).
• Ensures compliance with health care regulations including HIPAA and OSHA.
• Maintains safe, clean environment and adheres to infection-control policies.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.

Under the direct supervision of a Nurse, contributes to the delivery of patient-centered care through: Performance of selected day-to-day patient care activities. Maintenance of an environment that is functionally and aesthetically conducive to patient well-being. Demonstrates unit/area-designated competencies. Interacts with patients considering their developmental, age-specific, and cultural spiritual preferences.

Responsibilities

• Performs specific patient care interventions as delegated by the RN in effort to identify/attain treatment goals.
• Delivers compassionate support, attention, and assistance to patients and families.
• Provides physical support for patients with daily activities and personal hygiene, including bathing, showering, feeding, dressing, getting out of bed, using the toilet, walking, standing or exercising.
• Ensures compliance with all health care regulations, including HIPAA and OSHA.
• Maintains safe and clean working environment and protects patients and employees by adhering to infection-control, hazardous waste and other policies and protocols.
• Performs other related job duties as requested.

Required

• High school diploma or equivalent.
