Job summary

Corewell Health is seeking a Nurse Assistant for the 3 West unit at Grosse Pointe Hospital. You will provide patient care under RN supervision, transport patients, and document care in the EMR. A video overview of the role is available, and benefits are comprehensive.

Qualifications include a high school diploma, BLS certification, and CNA certification preferred. On-site parking and a variety of voluntary benefits are offered.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Care for patients according to plan of care and hospital policy.
• Safely transport patients and perform observer duties as needed.
• Perform receptionist and clerical duties to support unit operations.
• Document care provided in the electronic medical record.

The focus on 3W are conditions of the Gastrointestinal tract such as small and large bowel resections, bariatric surgery, abdominal pain, GI bleed as well as urology patients.

Scope of work

Provides care to the patient according to the plan of care, unit routine and hospital policy under the direction of a Registered Nurse. Safe transport of patients via wheelchair or stretcher, dispatch services and appropriate documentation of services. Provides the services of an Observer for any patient on a patient care unit who has been assessed to require constant observation, either in person or via remote video monitoring, to maximize his/her safety. Performs general receptionist and clerical duties to facilitate efficient functioning of the nursing unit. Documentation of care provided in the electronic medical record.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Previous hospital or nursing home experience preferred
• American Heart Association or American Red Cross Basic Life Support certification required
• Current CNA certification preferred.
• Ability to communicate effectively and document information accurately
• Ability to deal efficiently and effectively with a wide variety of individuals
• Knowledge of basic medical terminology preferred
• Basic computer knowledge is preferred
• Ability to move or lift patients and equipment
