Job summary

Corewell Health is seeking a part-time Nursing Assistant for the Progressive Care Unit at Royal Oak Hospital. This role supports 3CN, 4CN, and 5CN with day shifts, 24 weekly hours, and operates 6:30 a.m. to 7 p.m., under the supervision of a registered nurse.

The position includes direct patient care, safe patient transport, EMR documentation, and occasional clerical duties. A $750 sign-on bonus is available, with comprehensive benefits and a collaborative team environment.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent.
• American Heart Association or American Red Cross Basic Life Support.
• Completion of nursing assistant program and/or one year of nursing assistant experience.
• Nursing Assistant certification.

Responsibilities

• Provides care to the patient according to the plan of care, unit routine and hospital policy under the direction of a Registered Nurse.
• Safe transport of patients via wheelchair or stretcher, dispatch services and appropriate documentation of services.
• Provides the services of an Observer for any patient on a patient care unit who has been assessed to require constant observation, either in person or via remote video monitoring.
• Performs general receptionist and clerical duties to facilitate efficient functioning of the nursing unit.
• Documentation of care provided in the electronic medical record.

About the unit

3 CN is a ten-bed unit who specializes in general surgery, vascular, and thoracic patients. 4 CN is a cardiovascular and thoracic surgery unit. We receive patients directly from the ICU and we can monitor patients who are on various anti-arrhythmic. 5CN is focused on discharge plan and readiness.
