Job summary

Powers-Health is hiring a Nurse Assistant for IMCU to work evenings and nights at Community Hospital in Munster, IN. The unit is a 32-bed multidisciplinary 24-hour area with a high acuity patient mix and Cardiac monitoring.

Responsibilities include direct patient care, transfers, and assisting with ADLs. The role requires CPR, a high school diploma (or equivalent), and at least one year of patient care experience.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalency preferred.
• One year direct patient care experience with successful competency exam, clinicals in nursing program, or CNA certification required.
• CPR certification required.
• Completes annual skill validations as well as safety and infection control procedures.

Responsibilities

• Performs various designated patient care activities necessary in caring for the personal needs, comfort and safety of the patient in accordance with Hospital Policy and Nursing Service Standards.
• Assists patients with ADLs, ambulation, mobility, positioning, turning and lifting while maintaining all Safety Patient Care Practices.
• Assists patients with transfers and discharges.
• Assists patients with nutritional needs i.e. passing and collecting food trays, feeding patients, providing fresh water every shift, assist with maintenance of special diets and between meal nourishment.

Powers Health is hiring a Nurse Assistant for IMCU to work evenings and nightsat Community Hospital in Munster, IN.

The Intermediate Care is a 32-bed multidisciplinary 24-hour unit located on the third floor of the Parkview Tower. Patients over the age of twelve may be admitted to this unit, but the average age is 67. The highest volume of medical diagnosis, but surgical patients are admitted. The most frequent diagnosis include: angina, R/O or Post MI, Cardiac dysrhythmia, CAD, COPD, CHF, pre-post PTCA, post stent, general surgical patients requiring cardiac monitoring/observation post-op, diabetes, CVA and peripheral vascular diseases.

Nurse Assistant Roles and Responsibilities:
