Job summary

Lifepoint Health is seeking a dedicated Certified Nursing Assistant I for a 24-bed IMCU unit. You will monitor patients, assist with daily living activities, document vital metrics, and support admissions, transfers and discharges while maintaining a safe, clean environment.

Applicants must hold a CNA I license and complete CNA coursework. BLS is required within 30 days; prior hospital experience is preferred. Competitive benefits available.

Qualifications

• Current CNA I license is required.
• Completion of an accredited CNA program is required.
• Basic Life Support certification or ability to obtain within 30 days.
• One year of experience in a hospital or acute care setting preferred.

Responsibilities

• Monitor vital signs and glucose levels and report changes.
• Assist patients with activities of daily living and comfort.
• Document input/output and weights accurately.
• Assist nurses with admissions, transfers and discharges.
• Answer call lights and maintain patient room cleanliness.
• Provide care appropriate to patient condition and age.

Join our team in a 24-bed unit staffed with Registered Nurses (RNs), Certified Nursing Assistants (NAs), and monitor techs. This unit focuses on Pre & Post Cardiac Cath patients with 24 hr cardiac monitoring.

How you'll contribute

A Certified Nursing Assistant I (CNA I), who excels in this role:

• Monitor vital signs/blood sugars
• Assists patients with activities of daily living; Document and report abnormal findings or changes in patient condition
• Measure and document input/output and weights
• Assist nurse as needed
• Answer call lights
• Assist with patient admission, transfer and discharge
• Provide care appropriate to the condition/age of the patient
• Distribute drinks and/or snacks
• Maintain clean and neat patient room and work environment.
• All other duties as assigned

What we're looking for- a compassionate nursing assistant with a understanding of critical care principles and advanced patient monitoring.

Applicants should have a current state NA I license and completed NA course from an accredited school. Additional requirements include:

• Basic Life Support certification is required within 30 days of hire.
• One year of experience preferred
