Job summary

McLaren Health Care is seeking a Certified Nursing Assistant to join the Hospice-Petoskey team. The role involves contributing to patient-centered care under the supervision of a registered nurse and maintaining an environment conducive to patient well-being.

Hours are 8:00am-4:30pm, on days shift, with 80 scheduled bi-weekly hours. The position requires a high school diploma or equivalent, Michigan CNA certification, BLS within the first week, and a valid Michigan driver's license with current

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• State Certified Nursing Assistant certification is required.
• BLS certification required within first week of hire.
• Valid Michigan driver's license and proof of auto insurance are required.
• Six months of experience with a variety of patients is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Performs specific patient care interventions as delegated by the RN to identify and attain treatment goals.
• Delivers compassionate support and assistance to patients and families.
• Provides physical assistance for daily activities and personal hygiene (bathing, feeding, dressing, mobility).
• Ensures compliance with health care regulations, including HIPAA and OSHA.
• Maintains a safe and clean environment and follows infection control policies.
• Performs other related job duties as requested.

Position Summary:
Under the direct supervision of a Nurse, contributes to the delivery of patient-centered care through: Performance of selected day-to-day patient care activities. Maintenance of an environment that is functionally and aesthetically conducive to patient well-being. Demonstrates unit/area-designated competencies. Interacts with patients considering their developmental, age-specific, and cultural spiritual preferences.

Responsibilities:

1. Performs specific patient care interventions as delegated by the RN in effort to identify/attain treatment goals.
2. Delivers compassionate support, attention, and assistance to patients and families.
3. Provides physical support for patients with daily activities and personal hygiene, including bathing, showering, feeding, dressing, getting out of bed, using the toilet, walking, standing or exercising.
4. Ensures compliance with all health care regulations, including HIPAA and OSHA.
5. Maintains safe and clean working environment and protects patients and employees by adhering to infection-control, hazardous waste and other policies and protocols.
6. Performs other related job duties as requested.

Required:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• State Certified Nursing Assistant.
• BLS certification required within first week of hire
• Valid Michigan Driver's License, proof of valid auto insurance, and maintain a driving record in accordance with McLaren's corporate driving policy and eligibility guidelines

Preferred:
